Wanted to pop by and give you some amazing updates on BLACKBIRD.

BLACKBIRD was nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards: Supremely talented director Jason Buxton was nominated for the Best Original Screenplay and Kimberlee McTaggart was nominated for Achievement in Editing for her work on BLACKBIRD. Very awesome and well-deserved nominations for both of them. The awards ceremony take place in March where the winners will be announced.

Jason Buxton also received the 2013 Claude Jutra Award from the Canadian Screen Awards. According to the Academy: “Established in 1993, the Claude Jutra Award honours outstanding achievement by a first time feature filmmaker.”

So, big big congratulations to Mr. Buxton and everyone involved with the making of this amazing Canadian film!

If you are wondering where and when to see this awesome film as it continues its festival and other venues circuit, the film’s official website now has a page for screenings.

I hope to get more content up soon. Not only Falling Skies but also more Canadian and indie film. Right now I’m waiting to hear back from a Canadian production filming right now that I am really excited about and really hoping to be able work with. I’m also in talks with a couple other indie films about doing interviews with them. So we’ll see what happens.

Thanks again for all your awesome support and readership! Have a great day, and above all:

Keep the Resistance Strong!
