View on Romance from IMDB

IMDB user kodax2 stated the following, as if he read my mind and put my thoughts better than I could:

Its like a writer from a prime time soap and David Cronenburg are in a desperate struggle for control of this show:

Cronenberg: They find the pale bodies of the children in the forest under the leaves.

Soap: But…one is alive and she happens to be…Its Hal’s ex!

Cronenberg:…but shes actually a sinister hostile implant from the aliens meaning to cause harm…

Soap: To Hal’s relationship with his current GF. Its a love triangle!

Cronenberg: No but..Ben can sense it. She is sinister..

Soap: But they fall in love. They cant help it. Its a love quadrangle!

Keep the Resistance Strong!

  1. I love the show and all other points are solid. BUT once again, they remind me of The Walking Dead taking the cheap road by concentrating on unbelieveable love crap in the midst of a fight for survival.

  2. …with even TWO possible love triangles, both involving Mr. Fanservice Hal. Talk about trying hard to please the fangirls. I expect Hal to be perma-shirtless in season 3.

  3. The level of cynicism displayed towards Hal is hilarious, if not a bit disheartening. I’m a ‘see the bright side’ kind of guy so naturally I get a bit defensive. Is romance probable during times like this? Maybe not, but at the same time isn’t love what makes us human? (gosh I sound really cheesy right now!) Is Hal fanservice? Yeah, a bit. But at the same time I feel that there is a story to be told regarding him. It’s no easy position he’s in and it’s obvious he has ‘aged beyond his years’ so to speak because of everything he’s been forced to witness. The Hal and Maggie romance is overdone at points but at the same time it reminds us that at the end of the day, he’s still a hormonal teenager and Sarah Sanguin Carter is still hot. Moving on…
